“Presence” by Steven Soderbergh Receives International Premiere as Toronto’s Centerpiece Selection

Presence, the eerie ghost drama directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, and Callina Liang, will have its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival as part of the Centerpiece sidebar.

Approximately 35 years after the premiere of his breakthrough picture, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, in Park City, Soderbergh screened Presence for the first time at Sundance earlier this year. All told, 43 films from 41 nations were shown on Tuesday at TIFF’s Centerpiece section, which was once known as Contemporary World Cinema.
