Paul Schrader, an accomplished director and screenwriter, will receive a lifetime achievement award at the Lucaa Film Festival this year.
A retrospective of Schrader’s films, including Blue Collar, Hardcore, The Comfort of Strangers, Affliction, Auto Focus, The Walker, The Canyons, The Card Counter, Master Gardener, Mishima, and First Reformed, will also be screened at the Italian event, which takes place from September 21 to September 29.
Italian university cinema students will attend Schrader’s public workshop at the Cinema Astra on September 26. He’ll get the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award the next day.
